THE V EMPLOYMENT LAUNCHER OF CALVIÀ TOWN HALL FINISHES ITS ACTIVITIES WITH A 75% OF LABOUR INSERTION OF ITS PARTICIPANTS
After five months in operation, the V Employment Launcher of Calvià comes to an end with a positive and satisfactory outcome, since 15 of the 20 participants have found work as an employee and another colleague has opted for self-employment.
The initiative has been promoted and financed by the Town Hall, through the IFOC, and managed by the Santa María la Real Foundation, as entity designer of the LEES programme for labour orientation.
The V Employment Launcher of Calvià began to work in November to help a score of unemployed people (13 women and 7 men) aged between 31 and 57 years, with different training levels and work trajectories, to activate and optimise their job search with new techniques and employment guidance tools, according to the new labour market.
Its participants, guided by their technician Lola Romillo, have carried out a complete calendar of activities during these months to improve their employability: emotional intelligence dynamics, communication workshops, personal branding and job search 2.0, simulations of job interviews, elaboration of an employability map and numerous visits to companies.
Good results
These activities have paid off, as 15 of the 20 participants have found a job in different sectors: administration, commerce, hospitality or services, amongst others.
Additionally, another colleague, Rosa Berger, has opted for self-employment as a professional project. She has launched "Involucra-T", to develop Corporate Social Responsibility programmes for companies and committed institutions. For this, she has had the support and advice of the launcher, and especially, of the Entrepreneurs Accelerator of the IFOC.
Lola Romillo is satisfied with the results achieved in the five months, not only for the insertion rate, but especially for the change in attitude experienced by the participants.
"That change in the way of seeing and understanding the labour market has favoured the good results. Now they have more confidence in themselves and in true teamwork. Now they have new tools to make themselves known, to value their experience and knowledge, and thus generate job opportunities, " adds Lola.
On her behalf, the deputy mayor for Economy, Employment and Innovation Mª Carmen Iglesias Manjón highlights ''the manifest utility of these projects that combine guidance, coaching, training and active job search when achieving outstanding success rates''. Likewise, she reminds that ''the Calvià Town Hall has been configured as one of the first municipalities in Spain that is committed to this type of projects undertaking a 100% municipal financing and incorporating users of any age, as opposed to the majority of projects that are carried out at the national level in which the profile is entirely youthful".
