DECORATION OF GLASS CONTAINERS PROVIDED BY CALVIÀ 2000 FOR THE MALLORCA LIVE FESTIVAL

Within the framework of the agreement between the organiser of the festival, Calvià 2000, Cruz Roja and Hidrobal

The urban plastic artist Mister Piro, together with novice artists, will decorate this afternoon the four glass containers which Calvià 2000 has provided and transferred to the Mallorca Live Festival, in Magaluf. These four containers, once decorated, will be conferred to the Calvià Town Hall's Animal Welfare Department for its use as a compartment for cats, in order to facilitate the management of the feral colonies of the municipality. This way, art and sustainability join within the framework of the greatest festival on the island.

Amongst the actions to reduce waste during the festival, there is the installation of "colillómetros" - methacrylate ashtrays sponsored by Cruz Roja and Calvià 2000, in which they compete with music-related themes for hosting the largest number of cigarette butts - in the festival's grounds.

In addition, the Festival contributes to the protection of the environment by transferring part of its collection to environmental protection programmes on the Calvià coast developed by Creu Roja, and is committed one more year to reusable cups. In this line, Calvià 2000 collects the waste generated in the festival in a differentiated way.

These are some of the initiatives contained in the collaboration agreement signed between the promoter of the Mallorca Live Festival, Calvià 2000, Hidrobal (supplier of drinking water) and Cruz Roja Illes Balears.
