CALVIÀ'S AGENDA AT FITUR
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, travels to Madrid, to attend the International Tourism Fair in Madrid FITUR and the official presentation of the objectives for 2019 of the Tourist Municipalities Alliance (AMT).
Presentation of challenges and priorities of the Tourist Municipalities Alliance and meeting with the Minister
The presentation will be held on Tuesday 22nd January 2019, at 12 noon, at the Génova Financial Club, and the mayors of the 8 touristic municipalities (Calvià, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Benidorm, Arona, Adeje, Lloret de Mar, Salou and Torremolinos), and the president of the CEHAT (Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations) and ITH (Hotel Technological Institute), and member of the Technical Secretariat of the AMT, Juan Molas, will take part. At the press conference, they will explain the challenges and priorities of the Alliance for 2019 to the media.
The mayors of the Tourist Municipalities Alliance will also hold a meeting with the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, to whom they will explain the objectives and priorities of the 8 coastal tourist municipalities that add more than 60 million overnight stays, which means more than 20% of the tourist overnight stays that take place yearly in Spain.

On Thursday, at 10 a.m., the Mayor of Calvià will participate in a round table organised within the framework of FiturtechY, in the #techYdestino forum, along with the rest of the members of the AMT, which takes place at the IFEMA premises.
Calvià will also attend, through the general director of Tourism of the Town Hall, Xavier Pascuet, to the delivery of the ITH Smart Destination Awards 2019, to be held at the IFEMA pavilion.
Event with Travel Bloggers
On Tuesday, 22nd January, there will be a meeting of 30 Spanish travel bloggers who will have the challenge of creating the Uriji Burger, under the #UrijiBurgerMadrid hastag. It is an event organised by Aviburger (gourmet hamburger restaurant in Madrid) and the social network URIJI (created in London that invites its users to create stories and dreams), which have come together to create experiences around food and trips.
The Calvià's General Director of Tourism will attend in order to deliver one of the prizes that will consist of 2 places to participate in the second edition of Blog Trip, organised by the Town Hall.
Last October, Calvià's first Blog Trip took place, with 17 bloggers from Spain, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Poland, the United States, the Netherlands and Puerto Rico, with the aim of making known, especially through the Social Networks, the wide and varied offer that Calvià has during the low-middle season, as well as the gastronomic, cultural, sporting and natural proposals that people who visit the municipality can enjoy throughout the whole year.
