THE MAYOR OF CALVIÀ VISITS THE 'AULA JOVE' OF YOUNG PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES CARRIED OUT IN AUGUST AND IN WHICH EIGHT YOUNG PEOPLE FROM THE MUNICIPALITY ARE TAKING PART
'Aula Jove' is a service offered by the Calvià Town Hall and managed by the Association of Persons with Disabilities of Calvià (ASDICA)
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has visited the 'Aula Jove', an activity that takes place in the facilities of Es Generador throughout August and is aimed at young people from Calvià with intellectual disabilities aged between 14 and 30.
The 'Aula Jove' is a service offered by the Calvià Town Hall and managed by the Association of People with Disabilities of Calvià (ASDICA) aimed at offering participants a time of leisure with differents activities such as workshops, games, excursions and water activities. Many of the activities are carried outside of the classroom to break the dynamics of the school year.
This year, eight young people from the municipality are taking part. They have the support of two specialised monitors with extensive experience in the care of young people with different capacities. The main objectives of the 'Aula Jove' are offer a space for families to rest, increase leisure activities of young participants, and promote the autonomy and maintenance of good habits already acquired.
During the visit, there has been an explanation of the activities carried out, and some games have been shared with the monitors and young participants. Together with the mayor, the first deputy mayor of Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés; the director of Social Development, Children and Senior Citizens, Mari Carmen Rojano; and the area councilor for Son Caliu and fifth deputy mayor of General Services and Infrastructure, Juan Recasens have also visited the 'Aula Jove'.
