BRITISH JOURNALISTS VISIT THE TWO GALATZÓ ESTATE PROJECTS FINANCED BY THE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM TAX
The AETIB organises these press trips in which the initiatives that are carried out with ITS financing are explained
A group of British journalists have visited this morning the projects of the Municipal Public Estate of Galatzó that are made with funds from the ITS (Sustainable Tourism Tax). These days they visit different projects, through the press trip organised by the Tourism Strategy Agency of the Balearic Islands.
The group of journalists have received explanations, from the Consell de Mallorca, about the future mountain refuge that will be located in the old pigsties. The works, which will be carried out by the Council of Mallorca, will consist of the rehabilitation of this space that, once in operation, will be part of the Dry Stone Route refuge network.
The deputy mayor and councillor for Environment, Rafael Sedano and Marga Plomer, have welcomed the British journalists who have also been able to see the evolution of the works, which have already begun, to recover the hydraulic system of the Galatzó estate. This is the second project funded by the ITS on the estate and that is carried out by Calvià Town Hall.
This project aims to carry out a series of repair works, in order to put into operation the gutter and the mills of the Galatzó hydraulic system, and thus take advantage of the water that is now not used.
Likewise, the execution of this project has an added value since it will allow to stop the degradation and recover a unique element in the area and adapt an exceptional hydraulic space, representative of a type of construction significant of the Mallorcan tradition in danger of disappearing.
Both projects have an ITS financing of more than 2 million euros.
