CALVIÀ TOWN HALL TRANSFERS A MUNICIPAL PREMISES TO AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL TO CARRY OUT ITS ACTIVITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY
The 'Grup Acció Calvià' of Amnesty International will have a municipal premises in the Galatzó residential estate to carry out its task thanks to an assignment agreement that it has signed with Calvià Town Hall. The deputy mayor and the councillor for Youth, Citizen Participation, Environment, Ecological Transition and Democratic Memory, Rafel Sedano and Marga Plomer, have ratified the agreement with Miquel Àngel Mayorga, of the local Action Group.
Amnesty International Grup Acció Calvià aims, amongst others, to carry out activities of a social, cultural, recreational and festive nature aimed at ensuring the activism, presence and mobilisation of the entity in the municipality. Thus, different mobilisations related to the defence of human rights are carried out. These are actions scheduled by the International Committee based in London and coordinated by the Spanish section.
Calvià Town Hall, to the extent possible, wants to continue facilitating access to the use of municipal premises and facilities to those non-profit entities or associations that, are intended to promote citizen participation, as well as the defence of the general interests of the citizens.
