Acotur, Restauración and Calvià 2000 sign an agreement to improve selective rubbish collection in the tourist areas of the municipality

The association of bars and restaurants Restauración Mallorca and the traders association Acotur have signed a public-private collaboration agreement with the municipal company Calvià 2000 for the effective and efficient management of the waste management system in the 'P' Areas (first lines of Calvià tourist areas), with the objective of improving the selective collection in the businesses located in these areas.

Amongst other initiatives, regular information campaigns between commercial and catering establishments are planned, as well as the collection of feedback, before, during and after the tourist season, on the collection system to increase its efficiency. Likewise, the associations will inform their associates on the compliance with the Municipal Waste Collection and Cleaning Ordinance.

The new agreement, signed by the president of Restauración, Alfonso Robledo; the president of Acotur, José Tirado; and the manager of Calvià 2000, Javier González Ruiz, accompanied by the president of the public company, the deputy mayor Marcos Pecos, represents the continuation of the work that the public and private sector have been jointly developing since 2016 to optimise the cardboard and glass collection in the most tourist areas.
