Due to the Galatzó Trail Mallorca event that will gather 800 athletes in Es Capdellà, the village will suffer traffic cuts from 7.30 am to 6 pm on 15th March.
The streets that will be affected by these traffic cuts are: C / Església, (between C / Major, C / Amellers), C / Ametllers (C / Galatzó and C / Església), C / Galatzó (C / Ametllers - Finca Galatzó).
Traffic detour: Traffic detours have been designed so that it is possible to exit the village towards Calvià, Galilea, Peguera and Andratx.
PARKING: a car park for residents (next to the public school of Es Capdellà) has been enabled where people will be able to park from Saturday 14th at 3 p.m. until Sunday 15th March at 8 p.m.

The event
The event is consolidated in its third edition as one of the references of mountain races in the Balearic Islands. Some data that support this statement are the following:
-Registrations sold out in the 2 distances, 43 km (350 participants) and 23 km (450 participants)
-Waiting list of more than 150 people between the two races that allows replacing last-minute cancellations with new participants.
-An increase of more than 15% in the presence of athletes from outside the islands. This year, more than 35% of the participants are foreigners.

New activities to enhance the impact of the event: nutrition and mountain conferences, children's races, Mallorcan cuisine or the recording of an adventure radio programme, are some of the proposals that this year the event incorporates, which will take place between Thursday 12th and Sunday 15th March.

The event as a whole achieves the best numbers in terms of participation compared to the rest of the mountain events previously held in the municipality, either under the umbrella of the old K42 or under the new organisation, Galatzó trail. As for the comparison with the last edition, the second one, which was already classified as very successful by both the organisation and the 650 participants, the race in 2020 achieves an increase in registrations (150) and is at its maximum allowed, 800 participants. This data reinforces the commitment to improve services and open communication to other nationalities.

More than a race
The event aims to satisfy the group of participating athletes and also their families. Therefore, a programme has been designed that includes, in addition to the two main races (HALF and LEGEND) that will take place on Sunday, other activities that will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They are the following:
Thursday, 12:
SER AVENTUREROS Radio programme related to adventure:  https://www.eventbrite.es/e/entradas-ser-aventureros-galatzo-trail-2020-96941948979
Saturday 14:
Children's race within the Curses infantils per la Serra de Tramuntana
Conference: nutrition and sport
Conference: “Moving Mountains II”: experiences of Balearic trail athletes
Collection of bibs, career briefing and pre-race snack
Sunday 15
GALATZÓ LEGEND Race (43 K)
GALATZÓ HALF Race (23 K)

All services
The organisation will have several points of solid and liquid supplies along the route, which will be completed with the 'fideuà' that all finishers will taste after crossing the finish line. At that time they will also receive a runner's bag and a commemorative T-shirt along with a finisher medal.

The transfer service from Peguera and Calvià will prevent the small car park of the town of Es Capdellà from collapsing, which hosts the start and finish of the race. There, the cloakroom, shower and physiotherapy points will be installed so that runners' only concern is to overcome the circuit's unevenness. The Sportmaniacs company will be in charge of the timing, informing on the winners who will receive a prize. At the finish area, entertainement will not be lacking to give the last halo of energy to the people participating in the final metres.

Previous day
The collection of bibs will take place the previous day, Saturday 14th March, at the Casal de Peguera. Registered people will enjoy a welcome snack and a briefing in which they will receive and explaination on the particularities of the race. And as an addition they can attend the conference that will offer a photo of women's role in mountain sports.

Organisation
The event is organised by the Calvià Town Hall in collaboration with Fundació Calvià. It is sponsored by the Consell de Mallorca, through the Insular Directorate of Tourism and Sports and the Hotel Association of Peguera and Cala Fornells.
