CALVIÀ TOWN HALL THANKS THE FARMERS ASSOCIATION OF CALVIÀ FOR THEIR SOLIDARITY AS THEY PROVIDE PRODUCTS TO THE MUNICIPALITY'S NURSERIES AND TO CHARITY MEALS

The Council collaborates assuming the cost of the slaughterhouse and transportation

Calvià Town Hall wishes to express its gratitude to the Farmers Association of Calvià for their solidarity collaboration during the state of alarm due to the Covid-19 crisis.
One of the first initiatives that this recently created association has carried out has been to provide lamb meat and other farm products from the area to charity meals and Calvià nurseries, which these days are preparing food for the professionals of the Health Centres of the municipality. In total, the entity has provided 4 lambs to the nurseries and today it will give 8 to the Can Maties i Miquel restaurant in Palma, which is preparing daily menues for the elderly and for the health professionals in Son Llàtzer.
The deputy mayor for Environment, Rafel Sedano, has expressed his support for this Farmers Association of Calvià action, and the department has assumed the cost of the slaughterhouse and the products' transportation. In this way, the Town Hall wants to recognise the work carried out by the primary sector of the municipality, which, in a situation of health crisis such as the one we are experiencing, shows its solidarity and shows us the need for the existence of this important sector.
