INFORMATIVE NOTE FROM THE LOCAL POLICE OF CALVIÀ
GREATER PRESENCE OF POLICE OFFICERS IN THE RESIDENTIAL AREAS OF CALVIÀ TO PREVENT ROBBERIES INSIDE HOUSES
The Local Police of Calvià has designed several surveillance routes to increase security in various population centres
The Local Police of Calvià has implemented in a planned way the face-to-face surveillance and high visibility of its police officers in different residential areas of the municipality to prevent robberies. These illicit acts are usually committed at the end of the Summer season in single-family homes when the residents have already left their second residence and returned to the place where they usually live. In addition, the Local Police of Calvià has evidence that in recent days there have been several robbery attempts and even evidence of the entry of thieves at night in homes in residential areas of the municipality, almost always uninhabited. Likewise, it has also been verified that there have been some robberies in shops and vehicles.
Anti-COVID measures
Regarding the use of face masks, so far this September, 39 complaints have been filed. Police officers have drafted 13 reports in traffic controls in Peguera, Costa de la Calma and Costa d'en Blanes to travellers who did not wear the face mask in the car when they should. The other 26 fines have been against people who were in public areas without a face mask. Most of the complaints have been made in the early morning hours. It is worth highlighting the case of a group of four young people who were on a beach in Cas Català after 9 p.m., without a face mask and smoking. The Local Police of Calvià has also reported a group of eight young people who carried out a bottle party on a beach in Costa d'en Blanes.
Beaches
During the days of good weather in September, the Calvià Local Police officers have had to carry out intermittent cuts to access the beaches of Buguenvíl • lea, Illetes, Cala Comtessa and Xinxell, in order to control that the maximum allowed capacity was respected.
Schools
On the first day of class, the Calvià Local Police has been able to regulate vehicle traffic at the entrances to all schools in the municipality with total normality.
