CALVIÀ PARTICIPATES IN THE EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK 2020 WITH VARIOUS ACTIVITIES IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF THE MUNICIPALITY
Under the motto ''Por una movilidad sin emisiones''(For a mobility without emissions), the aim is to raise public awareness on the use of more sustainable means of transport
Calvià will participate in the European Mobility Week 2020 which this year takes place from 16th to 22nd September under the motto ''For a mobility without emissions'', with the aim of raising public awareness on the negative consequences of the irrational use of the car, both for public health and for the environment, and the benefits of using more sustainable means of transport such as public transport, cycling and walking.
Rafel Sedano, Calvià Town Hall's Deputy Mayor for Environment and Ecological Transition, invites you to participate in the programme of activities for the European Mobility Week, organised by the General Directorate of Sustainable Development, Environment and Ecological Transition of the Town Hall, with the collaboration of the Libraries' Department Service. Despite having had to suspend the bulk of the usual face-to-face initiatives in recent years, those where the necessary prevention measures can be guaranteed have been maintained.
Thus, on Friday 18th September, there will be a circular Nordic walking route through Bendinat. The next day, on Saturday, there will be an excursion through the Galatzó municipal public estate that will go from Sa Vinya to Es Tramuntanal. The bicycle will take center stage on Sunday 20th with a tour through Palmanova, with a circular route that will start from the Plaza de la Avenida de la Playa (beach avenue square). Precisely that Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday 22nd September, during the afternoon, the Palmanova beach promenade will be open to the public and will remain closed to vehicle traffic, from the beach avenue square.
For its part, Calvià Libraries will broadcast the virtual storytelling ''La bruixa que anava en bicicleta'' (The witch who was riding a bicycle) on its social networks, at 11.30 a.m., in addition to offering a resource guide on mobility.
All face-to-face activities require prior registration to participate, as there are limited places.
