CALVIÀ TOWN HALL PRESENTS THE SECOND SHIFT OF THE SOIB REACTIVA 2020 PROGRAMME THAT HAS ALLOWED THE HIRING OF 39 UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE OVER 30 YEARS OLD IN THE MUNICIPALITY
• 72% of the people hired in this second shift are over 45 years old
• In total, the Town Hall and its municipal bodies have hired 106 people through this programme
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has presented today, together with the regional minister for Economic Model,Tourism and Labour, Iago Negueruela Vázquez, the start of the second shift of hiring of the Calvià Reactiva 2020 programme, which involves the hiring for four months, by Calvià Town Hall, of 39 unemployed workers, over 30 years of age, full-time, to carry out works and services of social interest that will benefit the entire municipality. The event was also attended by the deputy mayor for Education and Employment, Olga Granados; the general director of Economic Model, Tourism and Labour, Llorenç Pou Garcias, and the SOIB manageress, Pilar Ortiz Vilar.
The SOIB Reactiva 2020 Programme is an initiative launched by the SOIB that is carried out within the framework of collaboration with local corporations, and is configured as an active policy to promote employment. This programme, which for Calvià has meant 1.006.064,84 euros, is co-financed with funds from the ESF (European Social Fund), within the framework of the Operational Programmes for Youth and Regional Employment 2014-2020; with funds from the State through the Sectorial Conference on Employment and Labour Affairs; with funds to promote sustainable tourism through the Commission for the Promotion of Sustainable Tourism, and with a contribution from Calvià Town Hall of 269.294,96 euros.
For this programme, five projects were presented in Calvià, one by the Town Hall, through the Calvià Training and Employment Institute (IFOC), which encompasses various municipal areas (Commerce and activities, Communication, Historical heritage, Social development, childhood and the elderly, IFOC, Equality, Maintenance, Mobility and urban services, Environment and Ecological transition, Housing office, Citizen and youth participation, Citizens' Assistance Service, economic services and contracting, and Tourism and coastline), and the others by public bodies: Senior Citizen's Home of Calvià, the Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries (IMEB), the Municipal Tax Office and Calvià 2000.
The call includes two hiring shifts. The first shift started on 18th December 2020 and ended on 17th April 2021, with 67 people hired. The second shift, which has been presented today, began on 20th April and will end on 19th August, with 39 people hired.
The programme consists of three lines of action for unemployed people: Line 1, only for the first shift, aimed at young people under 30 years of age, Line 2 is aimed at people over 30 who are long-term unemployed, and Line 3 for people over 30 years of age affected by the Covid-19 health crisis.
The Social Services area of Calvià Town Hall has participated in the tasks of information and referral of people with social vulnerability in the municipality, so that they can participate in these programmes.
When these projects are completed, IFOC makes available the necessary resources to promote their employability, such as the Municipal Employment Agency, the employment guidance service and the entrepreneur assistance service, in addition to training actions.
