CALVIÀ RECEIVES QUALITY FLAGS FOR 15 MUNICIPAL BEACHES

Calvià has, as last year, 15 Q flags on the beaches of Bunguenvíl·lia, Illetes balneario, Cala Contesa, Portals, s'Oratori, es Carregador (Palmanova), Palmanova, Son Maties, Magaluf, Cala Vinyes, Ses Penyes Roges (El Toro), Santa Ponça, La Romana (Peguera), Torà (Peguera) and Palmira (Peguera). Once again, Calvià is the municipality with the most Q flags in Spain.

The Q flags are awarded by the ICTE (Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality), under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, based on the internationally recognized ISO quality standard.

Each year, the Calvià beaches must go through an audit, in which compliance with the requirements and parameters established both in the management and in the control of the procedures and work carried out on the beaches is verified. In other words, there is an exhaustive control of the integral management of the beach services.

The general director of Tourism and Litoral, Xavier Pascuet, attended yesterday in Madrid the handing out of the Q flags in a ceremony chaired by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto.
