- Since 1993, 4.600 students have participated in the programme
49 young people from Calvià have completed their internships in the 2024/2025 edition of the Internship Programme organised by IMEB (Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries). They were welcomed at the Town Hall, where they received the accrediting diploma, accompanied by their families, companies, and public and private collaborating entities.
The Mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, addressed the young people: "We want this to be just the beginning. Travel, explore, learn, dare to innovate and take risks. Calvià wants you to look far, to dream big. But at the same time, I want to remind you of something important: your municipality will always be your home." This is where we want to see you return with your ideas, your experience, and your talent. Because you are going to build the future of Calvià, with your energy, creativity, and courage."
The Calvià scholarship programme, launched in 1993, aims to improve the training of young people and facilitate their integration into the labour world through practical experiences in public and private entities. Since then, more than 4.600 young people from the municipality have benefited thanks to agreements with the University of the Balearic Islands, other Spanish universities, companies, and municipal entities.
In the 2024/2025 edition, high school, vocational training, and university degree students participated in various scholarship programmes: BECAlvià (30 participants); Projecta't (8 participants); Get Experience (3 participants); and Socioeducativa (8 participants).
The scholarships have been developed in collaboration with various private companies—such as the Centro Balear de Biología Aplicada, Aspro Ocio, Mosteiro Arquitectos, Estel Ingeniería y Obras, and Moya & Emery—as well as numerous municipal departments of Calvià Town Hall and IMEB services.
