CALVIÀ TOWN HALL RENEWS THE COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH EL TORO RUGBY CLUB SO THAT FOUR YOUNG PEOPLE FROM THE MUNICIPALITY WITH SOCIAL DIFFICULTIES PARTICIPATE IN SPORTS ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY THE ENTITY
The aim is to facilitate their social, emotional and learning development in terms of conflict resolution
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the president of the sports association El Toro Rugby Club, Pablo Mateu Zelarayán, have renewed today the collaboration agreement so that four young people with social difficulties in the municipality participate in the different activities carried out by the sports entity. The agreement-signing event was also attended by the deputy mayor for Social Cohesion, Nati Francés, and the councillor for Social Development, M. Carmen Rojano.
Thanks to this agreement, the Town Hall will contribute 2.940 euros to cover the participation expenses of four young people in leisure and sports activities that facilitate their social, emotional and learning development in conflict resolution matters.
The purpose of this agreement is to sensitise young people with different difficulties on the values of a society based on common well-being through rugby, promoting integration and the search for solutions to family, emotional and economic problems. In addition, it is intended to contribute to the commitment to respect oneself, as well as the other people involved in the activities. It is also intended to provide these young people with a real social and emotional network where they can learn, relate and resolve conflicts in a supervised way, first, and, more autonomously, later.
El Toro Rugby Club receives proposals from the Calvià Obligatory Secondary Education Schools on possible candidates to participate in the activities amongst the students who meet the conditions for it. Municipal social educators also have this sports and socio-educational resource, if deemed appropriate.
El Toro Rugby Club is a Calvià sports association based in the Son Caliu rugby field that is defined by its commitment for sport values to prevail.
