ACTIVITIES PROGRAMME TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 8M

Calvià Town Hall, with the coordination of the Department of Equality, has organised a series of events and activities for International Women's Day, aimed at all ages and different areas, seeking the maximum involvement of society.
For this reason, different municipal departments have participated in the elaboration of a wide programme of activities: Youth, the Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries (IMEB), Culture, the Calvià Sports Institute (ICE), Environment and the Training and Employment Institute of Calvià (IFOC), which cover a wide social spectrum, since the activities will be aimed, in addition to the general public, especially at boys and girls, at youth and the world of sports. In addition, it has the collaboration of different entities such as the Feminist Movement of Calvià, the Yaís Mountain Club and different sports clubs in the municipality.
Amongst the activities, there are poster and short story competitions, theatre, reading clubs, conferences, exhibitions, book presentations, workshops or video forums, amongst others.
The central act will take place on Tuesday 8th March at 12 noon, in front of the IFOC. The act of Rejection, Desire and Remembrance of the victims of sexist violence is resumed, in which all the women murdered by their partners or ex-partners will be remembered.
As a novelty, this year some bracelets have been created so that the sports teams of the municipality can wear them during the national division category matches that are played from 7th to 13th March, under the motto "In Calvià we compete for the equality of women in sport". The Clubs that will participate are: Bàsquet Ágora Portals Sports Club (national cat.), Club de Básquet Calvià (national cat.), Club de Voley Son Ferrer (national female), Club de Voley Son Ferrer (national male), Escuela Técnica Balompié Calvià (national cat.), El Toro Rugby Club Barbarians (national cat.), Club de Fútbol Platges de Calvià (3rd division), Club de Fútbol Platges de Calvià (national youth), Club Dicasports (national cat.) and Club Sporting Santa Ponça Talarrubias (national female).
