TWO TONS OF LARGE SIZE WASTE REMOVED FROM CALVIÀ COASTLINE

The Submón entity, within the Libera programme, has been in charge of the removal within the framework of the activities around World Environment Day organised by Calvià Town Hall

A coastal cleaning action is carried out on Thursday in Calvià. It is an activity framed within the Green Spring of Calvià, a whole month of activities around World Environment Day and other international days that are commemorated these weeks.

As explained by the councillor for the Environment and Ecological Transition, Rafel Sedano, the Submón entity is in charge of carrying out this action, within the Libera project, and consists of removing large waste that is not used and that is harmful to the ecosystem. This waste has been taken to the coast with the help of a boat and with the collaboration of Calvià 2000.

45 objects have been removed, a total of 2 tons approximately, pending the final weighing, from the coast near Santa Ponça.

The Libera and Submón Project, an association specialised in the conservation of the marine biodiversity, carry out this type of actions to protect the seabed.
