START OF SON CALIU ACOUSTIC SCREEN WORKS
This morning work began on the installation of acoustic screens in the joining lane of the Ma-1 in Son Caliu, which will improve the living conditions of the people who live near this road infrastructure, which has a daily density of 13.000 vehicles. The event was attended by the president of the Consell de Mallorca, Catalina Cladera; the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the island councillor for Infrastructure and Mobility, Iván Sevillano, and the deputy mayor for Infrastructure and councillor for Son Caliu, Juan Recasens.
The Department of Mobility and Infrastructures of the Consell commissioned a detailed acoustic study with the consequent drafting of the construction project to put the screens that will now begin to be installed. The acoustic study, which includes a digital modelling from cartographic plans and a numerical simulation from the CADNA programme. In addition, the screens will be installed between metal edge profiles arranged every 4 metres, the action and installation of acoustic screens will be carried out in 172 linear metres.
The mayor of Calvià was grateful for the start of the works, recalling that it is a project demanded by the municipality, especially by the residents who will see a significant reduction in the noise pollution they suffer, since the incorporation lane was built.
The works, which are being carried out by the awarded company VOPSA, are financed at 152.158,87€, and the estimated term of the work is 4 months.
