CALVIÀ TOWN HALL SIGNS THREE AGREEMENTS WITH SOCIAL ENTITIES FOR A TOTAL OF 17.000 EUROS

Calvià Town Hall has signed three collaboration agreements this morning with different social entities to help Ukrainian families fleeing the war, to support young people with autism spectrum disorder and to prevent child and youth sexual abuse. The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has signed the agreements with the heads of the three entities: Maria Antònia Mulet, president of the Mallorcan Solidarity and Cooperation Fund; Eva García, president of the Asperger Baleares Association, and Elizabeth Lorraine Homberg, president of the RANA Foundation, in two acts that were also attended by the deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés, and the councillor for Social Development, Childhood and the Elderly, M. Carmen Rojano.

Fons Mallorquí de Solidaritat i Cooperació

Calvià Town Hall, through this agreement, grants the Fons Mallorquí de Solidaritat i Cooperació with 10.000 euros to contribute to the humanitarian care of Ukrainian people who, fleeing from the war, seek refuge in other Eastern European countries.
Apart from this collaboration, Calvià Town Hall also helps Ukrainian people who have arrived in the municipality. In Calvià, 177 people of Ukrainian nationality have been registered, 80 of whom have been assisted by the basic community social services of the municipality, in different areas, helping to regularise administrative situations, referring them to employment services, with the schooling, etc.

Asperger Baleares Association

With this agreement, the Association receives a 2,000-euro grant for the project aimed at young people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), adolescents and young adults with neurodevelopmental disorders and other diagnoses related to difficulties in relationships or communications.

RANA Foundation

For the seventh consecutive year, the Town Hall collaborates with the RANA Foundation to promote awareness and prevention of child and youth sexual abuse in the municipality of Calvià. It is a 5.000-grant for the programme that is developed through different activities, which cover both children between 4 and 16 years of age, so that they know how to identify a situation of abuse, as well as adults, whether they are professionals or families, as responsible for their protection.

The agreements signing event was also attended by the general director of Social Development, Cristina Gamundí; the secretary of the Baleares Asperger Association, Joana Maria Rosselló, and the director of RANA, Pilar Sevilla.
