THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL SIGNS A COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH THE MALLORCA DESIGN DISTRICT ASSOCIATION FOR THE PROMOTION OF COMPANIES LINKED TO THE DESIGN AND LIFESTYLE SECTOR IN THE SON BUGADELLES ESTATE

The association is basically made up of small companies that work throughout the year and, therefore, contribute to diversifying the productive fabric, strengthening the economy and the labor market of the municipality

This Tuesday the Calvià Town Hall has signed a collaboration agreement with the Mallorca Design District (MADD) association for the promotion of companies linked to the design and lifestyle sector that are located in Son Bugadelles industrial estate of Calvià. The document has been signed by the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and by the president of the Mallorca Design District association, Mariana Muñoz, with the presence of the deputy mayor for Urban Planning, Commerce and Activities, Marc López; the Councilor for Commerce and Activities, Francisca Muñoz; the councilor of the Galatzó area, Marcos Pecos, and the association's treasurer, Guillermo Durán.

MADD is a private initiative, which has the support of the Calvià Town Hall, which works to point out the value of the companies located in the Son Bugadelles industrial estate, with the aim of positioning the area as a reference in Mallorca in terms of lifestyle and design, and to position it at the forefront of the sector.

The agreement, which includes a financial contribution by the Town Hall of €13,000 as a subsidy, is aimed at mutual collaboration to promote the objective of turning the Son Bugadelles industrial estate into the benchmark of the living and lifestyle sector on the island of Mallorca, in such a way that gradually more commercial activity is generated in the industrial estate, attracting a greater clientele in this segment; thus promoting the installation of new companies and showrooms for interior design, construction, real estate, events and lifestyle.

It is sought that in the long run, not only that there is a benefit for the companies integrated in the association, but that the increase in the volume of business can affect all the businesses installed in the Son Bugadelles industrial estate, and therefore, in a improvement of the Calvià economy in general. The MADD association is basically made up of small companies that work throughout the year and, therefore, contribute to diversifying the productive fabric, strengthening the economy and the labor market of the municipality. The work carried out by the association makes it possible to enhance the value of the industrial estate as a whole, making it more dynamic and turning it into a pole of attraction for companies in the sector, and consequently, promoting economic activity and creating jobs in Calvià.
