The 2023 budgets consolidate the return to normality and the continuation of the path of economic recovery that the Autonomous Community and the municipality are experiencing in the post-pandemic stage.

Despite this scenario, the social shield continues to be consolidated and strengthened compared to the pre-pandemic stage with the expectation of supporting the most vulnerable families and groups, as well as to face the inflationary situation as a result of the war in Ukraine.

Likewise, a strong investment is expected in 2023, both in the ordinary budgets and through the remnants that will be incorporated throughout the year to complement investments from European Next Generation funds and supra-municipal investments, and to carry out municipal investments for the improvement and replacement of pavements on public roads, sports facilities, educational centres, cultural and deseasonalising activities, as well as a firm commitment to active training and employment policies.

In 2023 the budget grows by almost 7%, while the debt decreases and neither taxes, fees nor municipal public prices have risen for 8 years, although investments and services for Calvià citizens are maintained or increased.

The Extraordinary Plenary on Budgets will be held on 30th November, at 10 a.m.
