CHALLENGE PEGUERA MALLORCA RECOGNISED AS 'BEST RACE OF THE YEAR' BY THE CHALLENGE FAMILY RACE AWARDS 2022

The Calvià triathlon has also been awarded for the 'best finish area'

The Challenge Peguera Mallorca triathlon has been recognised as the Best Race of the Year by the Challenge Family Race Awards 2022, which have been announced this Saturday in Gran Canaria, where the annual meeting of race directors has taken place.

Challenge Peguera Mallorca, in addition to being recognised with the highest award given by the Challenge Family Race international triathlon organization, has also been awarded for Best Finish Area.

The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, was grateful for this international recognition and congratulated the hundreds of people and the associations and entities that make this sporting event possible, year after year, which already occupies a preferential place in the calendar of international sporting events. The deputy mayor for Sports, Eva Serra, has stressed the gratitude to the more than 500 volunteers who have made the success of the race possible this year, as well as the involvement of the Peguera and Cala Fornells Hotel Association, to the support of the Tourism Strategy Agency of the Balearic Islands (AETIB) and the Fundació Mallorca Turisme (Consell de Mallorca), to the collaboration of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, and to the brands that this year have collaborated in the management of the event, such as Zone3, Powerbar, Trasmed or Abus, amongst others. For Eva Serra, without a doubt, this recognition reinforces the good work done and contributes to the project's growth.

Challenge Peguera Mallorca, organised every year by Fundación Calvià 2004 and Calvià Town Hall, is an example of institutional collaboration and private initiative.

In 2019 it was awarded for the best race amongst all the circuits participating in the Challenge Family and in the 2021 edition it was awarded for the most hospitable competition.

It is the people participating in these races themselves who decide to award the different races based on their experience competing in them and evaluating the various services provided to athletes by each organization.
