ACTIVITIES IN CALVIÀ FOR 8M INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Calvià Town Hall, coordinated by the Equality area, has organized a series of events and activities around 8M, International Women's Day, aimed at people of all ages.

An extensive and varied programme has been prepared -in which different municipal departments have participated- that covers a wide social spectrum, since the activities will be aimed, in addition to the general public, at boys and girls, youth and at the sports sphere. Activities include conferences, workshops, exhibitions, school games, sports activities and documentary screening, among others.

It count with the collaboration of different institutions, and entities such as the Fons Mallorquí de Cooperació, Alianza por la Solidaridad, Moviment Feminista de Calvià and the Yaís mountain club.

The central act will take place on Wednesday, 8th March starting at 7 p.m. in the Parc de Ses Estacions in Palma. The day before, Tuesday 7th March at the Son Ferrer CREC, the act of rejection, desire and remembrance of victims of sexist violence will take place, in which all the women murdered by their partners or ex-partners will be remembered.

Amongst the programmed activities, the II Feminist School of Calvià also stands out, which includes different workshops and conferences related to the sexuality of women and which will take place on 7th, 18th, 22nd and 29th March at the Son Caliu CEIP and in the Library of Santa Ponça – Galatzó.
