The mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual Guasp, has presided the swearing-in ceremony of the police officers and has reminded them that "the three pillars of your task must be the vocation of public service, closeness and the ability to build trust between the citizens of Calvià for whom we all work and have a duty”.
Juan Antonio Amengual highlighted in his speech that "the Local Police of Calvià is the tool with which the municipality must comply with attention to public safety and order, in addition to protecting the free exercise of the rights of people in Calvià and always and at all times from the vocation of public service.” The event was also attended by the deputy mayor for Local Police, Esperanza Catalá and the deputy mayor for Municipal Coordination, Isabel Bonet.

Five other officers will be part of the Proximity Division, which in winter provides support in areas and in summer is in charge of beaches. Finally, the other half of the newly incorporated police officers will work for the Traffic Division.
It should be noted that Royal Decree 1449/2018 allows some local police officers to retire early. Since then, 33 police officers have left their position in the Local Police of Calvià. For this purpose, calls for selective processes have been published to cover retirements.
