The Local Police of Calvià declares war on thefts on the beaches of the municipality: 25 detainees so far this summer
"The men and women of the Local Police are not going to allow thieves to act with impunity in the municipality"
Offensive of the Local Police of Calvià against thefts on the beaches of the municipality. Uniformed and plainclothes police officers have arrested 25 people accused of illegal appropriation so far this tourist season. They are men and women of different nationalities. One of the latest cases is that of the arrest of two Romanian women for theft on beaches by the plainclothes police officers unit. Cash and stolen objects valued at about 1.500 euros have been seized. The proceedings in this regard have been transferred to the Civil Guard.
From the Local Police the collaboration in the common objectives with the Civil Guard has been highlighted.
The head of the Local Police of the municipality, Esther Ribas, has assured that “putting an end to theft on the beaches is one of our priorities. Thefts are a direct attack on tourists and residents who want to enjoy a day at the beach and see how those who act unruly benefit from their time of rest.
In our objective of consolidating Calvià as a safe leisure destination, there is no room for the slightest tolerance for theft. The men and women of the Local Police are not going to allow thieves to act with impunity in the municipality. They must know that they are going to be persecuted here."
Of the total of 157 arrests carried out so far in the municipality, those corresponding to thefts represent the second largest group, only behind the crimes related to drug dealing that amount to 63 and illegal sales that amount to 61.
