Closing ceremony and recognition of participants of the Joves Qualificats programme organised by IFOC and subsidised by SOIB Entitats Locals 2022 in Calvià
On 10th October, Calvià Town Hall recognised, in an emotional closing ceremony, the work of the young people participating in the SOIB Joves Qualificats – EntitatsLocals 2022 Programme. This programme, which involved the full-time hiring for 12 months of 13 unemployed people under 30 years of age with a higher vocational training or university degree, registered in the Youth Guarantee, has significantly benefited the municipality of Calvià. One more year, thanks to this call, Calvià Town Hall, in collaboration with the Calvià Training and Employment Institute (IFOC) (11 people hired), the Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries (IMEB) (1 person hired) and The Municipal Tax Office (OMT) (1 person hired), launched the SOIB Joves Qualificats Entitats Locals 2022 Programme.
This programme, promoted by the Balearic Islands Employment Service (SOIB) and financed by the European Social Fund (FSE) within the framework of the Youth Employment Operational Programme 2014-2020, had a contribution from the SOIB of 428.056,57€, distributed in 376.373,40€ for Calvià Town Hall, 18.585€ for the OMT and 33.098,20€ for the IMEB. The total municipal contribution was 32.095,43€. This edition marked the fourth call for the SOIB Jove Programme in Calvià, in which a total of 64 young people have already participated. 10 of them have university degrees, while the rest have higher-level training cycle degrees.
These people performed functions related to their studies and carried out various projects in areas and services of the Town Hall and municipal companies. The main objective of this programme is to facilitate the insertion of young graduates into the labour market, giving them the opportunity to acquire professional experience in their sector and learn about Public Administration. Upon completion of the aforementioned projects, the IFOC will provide these young workers with the necessary resources to promote their employability, including the Town Hall's Municipal Employment Agency, the Career Guidance Service, the Entrepreneur Assistance Service and training actions organised by the IFOC. This closing ceremony represents a significant milestone in the commitment of Calvià Town Hall to the training and employability of local youth.
