ALADDIN'S LAST PERFORMANCE BY YOUNG PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES FROM CALVIÀ

The ASDICA Association celebrates the success of this musical that promotes the values of people with an intellectual disability of the municipality

The acclaimed play Aladdin will be performed for the last time on Sunday, 29th October at 6:30 p.m. at the Casal de Peguera. ASDICA (Association for the Care of People with Disabilities of Calvià) is proud to present its latest Aladdin performance, a truly special show performed by the municipality's young people with intellectual disabilities. This activity has been welcomed with enthusiasm and excitement by the members who participate, demonstrating their desire to overcome challenges and display their talent.

Given that currently the assessment of individual abilities is fundamental, ASDICA has managed to create an environment of support and personal growth for the young people who participate in the project and has thus contributed to their social inclusion. Each of the roles in the musical and text is adapted to the individual abilities of each of the young people, highlighting their talents and promoting their development. This approach is evidence of ASDICA's commitment to working for equal opportunities and promoting the values of people with disabilities.

Until today, Aladdin has captivated audiences in three moving performances and has sold out tickets. Two of them took place at the Casal de Peguera during the month of June. Another was performed at the Andratx Theatre in October. On Sunday, 29th October at 6:30 p.m., it will be the last opportunity to enjoy this production. Following this performance, ASDICA is now working on a new theatre play that will premiere in May 2024, reflecting the organisation's ongoing commitment to inclusion and performing arts.

The young participants have dedicated an entire year of personal effort and teamwork, and this has had a significant impact in several areas of their lives, including:

-Creativity enhancement: each young person has had the opportunity to explore their creativity and artistic expression through their participation in the musical Aladdin.
-Teamwork capacity improvement: working together in the production of the musical has strengthened the teamwork skills of the participants, promoting cooperation and effective communication.
-Development of empathy and assertiveness: interaction with peers and the public has allowed them to develop empathy and assertiveness skills, which contributes to their personal growth.
-Satisfaction with personal achievements: each successful performance has been a personal achievement and a source of satisfaction for these young people, which drives them to achieve their goals. Cognitive and motor stimulation: participation in the project has offered valuable cognitive and motor stimulation, contributing to the comprehensive development of young people.

The Association for the Care of People with Disabilities of Calvià appreciates the fundamental support of its collaborators, who work altruistically, believing in the importance of this project. In this sense, Calvià Town Hall has been an indispensable ally, providing the necessary space to rehearse and perform the theatre plays, in addition to providing technical support.

ASDICA reaffirms its commitment to empowering people with disabilities and promoting inclusion through art and culture. This latest Aladdin festure is a celebration of diversity and a showcase of what can be achieved when equal opportunities are given to all. The next work in 2024 promises to take this mission one step further.

The ticket price is 10 € and can be purchased through the website Entradas para Aladdin (notikumi.com). For large families, Calvià Libraries users and people with disabilities there is a 25% discount, so the ticket price is 7,50 €.
