Fruitful meeting between the Town Hall and the three Calvià IES (Obligatory Secondary Education Institutes) on co-education
· Isabel Bonet has announced various initiatives aimed at students, families and teachers
· Government team and educational centres agree in pointing out the importance of this type of training, which will be reinforced during the next year
Calvià Town Hall's deputy mayor for Education, Isabel Bonet, held a meeting on Thursday with the Co-education coordinators of the three institutes of the municipality (IES Calvià, IES Bendinat and IES Son Ferrer). During the meeting – which was also attended by the director of the CEIP Ses Quarterades (Primary Edcation School), Xim Pérez, representing the eleven CEIPs that exist in the municipality – issues related to the matter were addressed, and it has been highlighted the will of the government team to maintain training that both, council and educational centres agree in describing as "essential."
Bonet also recalled that the Town Hall promotes and organises talks and workshops, such as those carried out this week by municipal technical officials, and which aim are to guide not only minors but also families regarding early access by young people to new technologies and pornographic content through their mobile phones.
The Town Hall has also informed the representatives of the three institutes that during the first semester of next 2024, conferences will be held aimed at the students of these centres, and in which the topic will focus on the use of social networks, mobile telephony and pornography, in an event that will feature the participation of renowned experts in the field. In addition, training and information capsules will be held aimed at teaching staff and students' families.
The IMEB's manager, Néstor García, and the general director of Social Welfare, Mónica Molina, also took part in the meeting.
