Calvià inaugurates the I Zarzuela Festival with a concert on 6th December

The Peguera Auditorium hosts the first concert of the festival that will be extended with new dates in 2024

Calvià Town Hall, through the Culture area, launches the I Zarzuela Festival. The concert that opens the cycle will be performed by the pianist and composer Alicia Moreno, the tenor Antoni Lliteres and the soprano Natalia Salom, a trio of Mallorcan aces. It will be at the Peguera Auditorium on 6th December at 6 p.m. As Moreno has explained, they will offer “the best and best-known duets and romances of the most popular zarzuelas. It will be a recital with vibrant and powerful music, but also subtle. The performer has celebrated sharing the stage with "two magnificent Mallorcan singers who are developing an exceptional career." Tickets can be purchased in advance on the website www.notikumi.com.

Alicia Moreno has more than 20 years of experience as a concert performer. She has performed in Mexico, Portugal, Italy, Germany and Spain and has accompanied great figures of international opera such as Plácido Domingo, José Bros, Ramón Vargas, Ildiko Komlósi, Liliana Haroutounian, Joan Pons, Carlos Álvarez, Jorge de León, Nancy Fabiola, Tamara Wilson, Ismael Jordi... She has published three albums in long-playing format, the most recent being Amanece, which marks her debut as a composer.

A native of Artà, tenor Antoni Lliteres made his debut in 2019. Since then, he has performed works by Puccini, Verdi, Mozart or Häendel, amongst others. He has participated in the seasons of various orchestras, such as the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra or the Principality of Asturias Symphony Orchestra.

For her part, soprano Natalia Salom was the winner of the IV competition for young performers of the Wagnerian Association of Madrid-Richard Wagner Verband International. In addition, she won Second Prize in the XIII edition of Les Corts International Music Competition and second prize as a finalist in the XXXII edition of the Ciudad de Logroño International Singing Contest.
