12 young people from Calvià between 18 and 27 years old (most between 20 and 22) have participated in the 2024 edition of the Erasmus+ programme. It is a consolidated initiative in which participants gain the experience of living with other young people to exchange experiences and knowledge through a mutual training and learning process. The 'Calvianers' were received this Tuesday at the Town Hall by the mayor Juan Antonio Amengual and the councillor for Culture and Youth, Teresa Tena.

Amengual has addressed young people appealing to harmony: «we must move towards a world in which we know and appreciate each other regardless of the place in which we were born. You are agents of that change. Ours is a turbulent world. Sometimes we think that the problems do not concern us directly, that the war in Ukraine or the growing tension in the Near East are far away from us. And it is not so. That is why your experience is so important, that of meeting young people like you from other countries. "Those who know each other, appreciate each other and love each other, understand each other and don't fight."

On her behalf, Tena has insisted on the continuity of Erasmus +: «we want to help you achieve your present and future objectives. We work so that projects like this go ahead and so that you can enjoy them a lot, while at the same time they are of great help for your personal development.

This project connects and brings together 30 young people from different countries to meet each other, learn about each other's cultures and increase their well-being. It is a space where participants create and facilitate workshops with each other to increase their well-being by choosing specific topics that are relevant to them. 30 young people (6 from Italy, 6 from Turkey, 6 from Georgia and 12 from Calvià) lived together from 28th March to 6th April in Bergolo, Italy.

The Erasmus+ project is financed by the Youth Institute (INJUVE), organized by the Town Hall and has the collaboration of Umbrella, Associazione Vagamondo (through agreement) and Sistem Vive Jenerasyon Dernegi. The Associazione Vagamondo entity is a non-profit student organization born as an informal group in September 2013 in the city of Roletto, Italy, by young people who have gained experience working with other young people in various associations, public and private organizations at the local level, National and international. In December 2016, Vagamondo was registered as a Youth Organization (NGO). Vagamondo's vision is to contribute to the development of society, promote, disseminate and apply the values of equality, freedom and attention to the environment through education.
