THE GASTRONOMIC CONSULTANCY PROGRAMME BEGINS IN CALVIÀ, ORGANIZED BY IFOC AND RESTAURACIÓN DE MALLORCA CAEB

Calvià wants to promote the positioning of the municipality as a quality destination

The first free specialised advice session for local hospitality establishments was held today in Son Caliu

The Calvià Town Hall, through the Calvià Training and Occupation Institute (IFOC), in collaboration with Restauración Mallorca CAEB and in coordination with IDEAS Consultora, has started today an innovative gastronomic consultancy programme to promote the restaurant sector in the municipality of Calvià. This service specialised in customer service and sales techniques is designed for local hospitality establishments and is free of charge for participants.

The objective of these consultancies is to improve the quality of service in local restaurants and strengthen Calvià's reputation as a top-level gastronomic destination. The programme offers 8 hours of in-person coaching from hospitality experts, with sessions focused on strategies to provide exceptional service, create positive customer experiences, and strategically increase sales.

The first gastronomic consulting session took place today at the Mesón Son Caliu, with the participation of managers from restaurants such as Il Chiringo, Mesón Son Caliu, El Balcón, Kalima Beach and Besiki Sushi, amongst others. Joan Vives, with extensive experience in the restaurant sector, is the consultant for this edition.

The presentation was attended by Fernando Palmer, manager of IFOC, who commented: "We are committed to the restaurant sector and we want to contribute to improving the quality of service in Calvià". Alfonso Robledo, president of Restauración Mallorca CAEB, thanked IFOC and the Town Hall for their support of these initiatives, while Juan Ybarra, Partner-CEO of IDEAS CONSULTORA, highlighted the importance of continuous training for the growth of the sector. Manuel Mas, Deputy Mayor for Maintenance, Urban Services, Culture, Rural World and Animal Welfare, said: "We believe that this programme can greatly improve service in the hospitality industry in our municipality."

The consultancy will continue in other areas of Calvià, with next sessions scheduled for 7th and 8th May in Santa Ponça / Peguera and 21st and 22nd May in Portals / Bendinat from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
