DELIVERY OF AN AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION SYSTEM FOR THE URBAN GARDENS OF SON BUGADELLES AND SON FERRER
Calvià Town Hall has delivered an automatic irrigation system and essential tools, such as hoes and rakes, to the recent users of the urban gardens of Son Bugadelles and Son Ferrer. This event, which took place last Tuesday 25th June, was chaired by Manuel Mas, deputy mayor for Món Rural, and José Ignacio Lajo Bratos, general director of Món Rural (Rural World), who highlighted the importance of this action for the local community.
The Deixalles Foundation, known for its work in social and labour integration, actively collaborated in this delivery, demonstrating, once again, its commitment. Additionally, along with IFOC (Calvià Employment and Training Institute) staff, both organisations were present to provide detailed training on the installation and use of the new irrigation system, ensuring that beneficiaries fully understood its operation and could maximise their efficiency.
Manuel Mas highlighted the relevance of these urban gardens not only as growing spaces, but as meeting and learning places.
José Ignacio Lajo, for his part, praised the activity of the users present that day, urging that this system will allow them to be more self-sufficient. “We deliver good tools, to good people, so that they get good products from this great land,” concluded the general director of Món Rural.
