THE “PINTURAS SIN EDAD” WORKSHOP GATHERS YOUTHS AND ELDERLY PEOPLE ON AN ARTISTIC JOURNEY TO THE PAST
The intergenerational workshop “Pinturas sin edad” will be held on Friday, 12th July, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Puig de sa Morisca Archaeological Park building. This event will offer the unique opportunity for a group of young people aged 12 to 30 and people over 64 years old to discover and experience prehistoric art.
During the workshop, participants will use the same materials, techniques and motifs as our ancestors to jointly create a mural, thus fostering a space for exchanging stories and experiences between generations.
Afterwards, participants will be offered a refreshing and healthy fruit smoothie, creating an informal atmosphere for conversation and coexistence amongst everyone.
This initiative is framed within the intergenerational work line promoted by Calvià Town Hall, within the Ageing and Demographic Change Strategic Plan. With this activity, the pilot project "Yo te aporto, tú me aportas" (I contribute to you, you contribute to me) will conclude, which this year has involved more than 60 young people and elderly people from five population centres.
The objectives of this pilot project have focused on promoting interaction and empathy between generations, eradicating ageing population discrimination, raising awareness amongst youth about the unwanted loneliness that affects the elderly, and establishing informal mutual aid networks.
The activity is free of charge with prior registration.
Registration for the activity can be done by filling out this form.
