A total of 15 young people aged 16 and 17 are participating in the volunteering camp "Equality with action: building a fair future", which the Balearic Youth Institute (IBJOVE) has organised in Calvià in collaboration with Temps Lliure Projectes. The regional minister for Families and Social Affairs, Catalina Cirer; the director of IBJOVE, Tomàs Amer; the director of the Women's Institute (IBDONA), Catalina Salom, the mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, the deputy mayor for Social Welfare, Juana María Prats, and other members of the municipal team visited on Tuesday the activity taking place in Es Burotell.

The "Equality with action: building a fair future" programme seeks to promote gender equality and diversity amongst children and young people through recreational, educational and awareness-raising activities. This set of actions aims, in addition to working towards a more just and equal society, to provide participants with the opportunity to delve into youth and awareness-raising actions carried out within the municipality.

The young participants, from all over Spain, will attend different training workshops and design an awareness-raising campaign to be carried out in the towns of the municipality. They will also develop recreational and sporting activities that will provide them with a much closer perspective of the Balearic culture.
