It's one of the projects of the programme Calvià al día, with a total investment of 44 milion euros.

Inaugurated the Son Caliu School.

In an educational matter, where a total investment of 6 million euros is carried out, the first projects that have been inaugurated by the Education and Culture councillor, Francesc Fiol; the first deputy mayor, Isidre Cañellas and the deputy mayor delegate for General Services, José Manuel Ruiz, are the works for the improvement in the State School Migjorn, in Bendinat and in the School Son Ferrer, as well as the inauguration of the new State School Son Caliu that was put into operation in the school course 2004-2005.

Son Caliu State School:

  • New Infant Education Centre (3-6 years) and Primary (6-12 years) of double line
  • It can hold up 450 pupils, distributed in six Infant School units for 150 pupils and 12 Primary units for 300 pupils.
  • In the course 2005-2006, there are 142 registered pupils in Primary and Infant School.
  • The school is divided into two buildings: one for infant school and the other for primary. The building assigned to infant school has 6 classrooms, a support room, 1 workshop room and a few playgrounds. The building assigned to primary has 12 classrooms that are complemented with 2 support rooms, 1 assembly hall, 1 library, 1 computer room, 1 room for plastic arts and a few playgrounds.

Refurbishment of the underground area of multiple uses.

State School Migjorn(Bendinat):

  • New Dining Room and kitchen
  • Budget: 325.000 €


The programme Calvià al día also includes, with the motto: we impel education, the integral refurbishment of the school Ses Quarterades; the playground refurbishment and enlargement of the school classrooms of Galatzó; the adaptation of the school Ses Rotes Velles to turn it into a centre of infant education and primary education of 2 lines; the creation of a room for different uses in the school Puig de Sa Ginesta; the building of a new school in El Toro and the adaptation of the IES Son Ferrer to develop the formative cycle of middle degree of assenbly and maintenance of cold, a and heat production.
