403 pupils received the supporting diploma for Ocupació de Calvià had finished successfully the different formative actions(shares) of the Institut de Formació i Ocupació de Calvià
The President of I.F.O.C , Constantina Hernandez; the Director General of Active Politics from the Govern balear, Antoni Garcia; the Manager of I.F.O.C , Mónica Romero and Biel Arrom, in representation of the Conselleria of Education and Culture, presided on the 11th March the end of course ceremony . These courses were run by the Calvià Institut de Formació I Ocupació throughout last year .
Throughout 2007 a total of 32 clases ( 8.692 hours of instruction ) divided into three sections .: 3 programmes for Social Integration in the Workplace for Young People. (ISLA) . 26 training courses for employment and 3 courses for Professional Training (F.I.P). 403 students finished the courses and received their respective certificates. Over 50% of the students were women and 68% that took the course were unemployed .
The President of I.F.O.C highlighted her will to support the work and the students and introduced the course for 2008. This year work will continue on the Social Integration and Workplace Integration ( I.S.L.A ) Three professional training courses, one workshop for 16 people in Finca Galatzó which is a project for unemployed people in order to develop Gardening Skills and therefore widening their professional knowledge .
A further 23 Training courses will be aimed at employed and unemployed people thus benefiting 332 trainees. We must highlight that during the last term , some 33 Businesses collaborated on this project and a further 18 allowed practical work and development to take place .
Different areas and entities of the Municipality e.g. the Association of the Hoteliers gave support and assistance to enable this training to take place .
