The edition XXII of the Ditch Rei in Jaume-III Trofeo López Raigal, who will be celebrated from September 11 to September 14, recovers this year the day_s run between(among) Salou and Santa Ponça
The 22nd King James Regatta and López Raigal trophy will start this year on September 11th and conclude on Sunday 14th . Given the pre inscriptions it appears that this year will beat all records and that the event will see in excess of 40 boats representing the coasts of Catalunya and Baleares.
This year thanks to colaboration between the Town Halls of Calvià and Salou an alternative route has been set up between the mainland, Salou and Santa Ponça.
This sporting event involves an approximate distance of 165 nautical miles. The King James regatta will start on Thursday 11th september departing from Salou over to Puerto Portals (some 125 nautical miles). On Saturday 13th September there will be a coastal regatta covering some 15 nautical miles from Puerto Portals to Santa Ponça during which boats from Salou will take part. The event will close on Sunday 14th September with a new proposed coastal route, 25 nautical miles between Santa Ponça, islote Pantaleu and Puerto Portals.
The regatta open to Cruceros RN, Monotipos Platu 25 and J 80 and classical period boats is an important and intense event and open to participants adapting their technical know how to rise to the challenges of this regatta.
The regatta is organised by Regatta club of Puerto Portals, Club Nautico Santa Ponça and is sponsored by López Raigal construction S.L. And the Town Halls of Calvià and Salou.
