The building possesses more than 180 square meters in two plants and receives also the office of the chairwoman of the Third Age of Portals and of Portals's regidora
The Mayor of Calvià, Carlos Delgado, together with the Deputy Mayor for Portals, Esperanza Català and the Councillor for the elderley, Eloína Mora, inaugerated the new centre for the elderley in Portals on Friday 18th July. The centre is located at number 2 Calle Japon and covers a ground space of 134,73 square metres downstairs and 54,19 square metres on the first floor.
The centre is the property of Obralar S.L.U who by way of a signed agreement have granted the use of the centre to Calvià Town hall for a period of 2 years. The Town Hall has agreed to maintain and keep the centre in good condition and use it for social activities for the elderly in Portals.
The ground floor comprises a common room, another room a kitchen and 2 toilets , whilst the first floor has a room, an office and a bathroom. The ground floor provides the venue for activities for the elderly, whilst the first floor will house the office for the President of the Pensioners of Portals Association and also the Councillor of Portals, Esperanza Català who will be available there every Wednesday from 17.00 -19.00 hours for anyone who may need her.
The Association of Pensioners of Portals has around 115 members and activities carried out there will be I.T. Memory excercises , dance, ballroom and gym amonst others.
