The brand is intended to win tourists' loyalty offering a destination for all ages, with infinite possibilities
Calvià has presented a new tourist brand at the ITB in Berlin as part of the action plan backed by the Mayor, Carlos Delgado, to relaunch the promotion of the sector. From now onwards, Calvià will attend all tourist fairs and events under the new brand, which represents the fusion of an apple and a heart, with warm colours portrayed by a mixture of green and blue.
The brand is accompanied by a new image on promotional leaflets, edited by the consistory, and also presented during the visit to Berlin. Before summer, these changes will also be implemented in a new tourist web site, more modern and dynamic, where any visitors to Calvià will be able to comment on their stay and experiences in the municipality. There will also be important information shown in four languages.
Calvià's new tourist image presided the stand which the Town Hall and Hotel Associations shared, once again, to present the tourist facilities on offer in the municipality, with a view to the new tourist season. The perspectives indicate that the sector (tourist) will be less affected than other activities by the current economic crisis, and occupation figures should not suffer a noticeable decrease. With respect to this the major German tour operators acknowledged that the world economic recession would affect bookings for the Balearics and Spain, but are confident that there will be discounts and last minute contracts.
Sport, activities involving nature, and, of course, the excellent beaches, first class hotels/accommodation and amenities are the pillars of tourist promotion in Calvià for it to continue to be a prime destination of the Mediterranean.
Taking part in the trip to Berlin were the Mayor of Calvià, Carlos Delgado, the councillor for tourism, Kate Mentink, and the director of Strategic Development (Desarrollo Estrátegico) and the "Fundación Calvià", Antonio Rami, who exchanged opinions with hoteliers of the municipality and experts in the field.
