Calvià allocates 25,000 € for grants for aesthetic improvement and digitalization of local commerce

The grants cover up to 80% of the budget with a maximum of 9,000 € for aesthetic improvements and 6,000 € for innovation

The grants are aimed at establishments for public use with a maximum surface area of ​​150 m² and exclude nightlife venues

Calvià Town Hall allocates 25,000 € in grants for the aesthetic improvement of open establishments with a maximum surface area of ​​150 m², and for the innovation and digitalization of the activity. Nightlife venues, such as discos, nightclubs and other leisure establishments regulated by the Balearic Islands' tourism regulations, are excluded. The grants for aesthetic improvements cover up to 80% of the budget, with a maximum of 9,000 €, and for innovation and digitalisation they also cover up to 80%, with a maximum of 6,000 €. To calculate the amount, budgets with an issue date from 1st September 2024 to 8th October can be submitted. The improvements must be future, they cannot have been made before the application was submitted.

Both natural persons and legal entities, including groups without legal personality, can apply for the grants, provided they meet the established requirements. Applications can be submitted from today until 8th October using the model available in Commerce on the Calvià Town Hall website. They can also be submitted electronically through the municipal Electronic Office. To do so, a digital certificate or the Cl@ve system is required for electronic processing. All required documentation and a responsible declaration must be submitted.

As regards aesthetic improvements, those affecting both the interior and exterior of establishments will be subsidised, such as renovation works, the acquisition of furniture, the installation of shelters, as well as the modification of advertising elements and installations visible from public areas. These actions must comply with current regulations, including local urban planning regulations and municipal ordinances. In the area of ​​innovation and digitalisation, the purchase of point-of-sale terminals (POS), the creation, updating or maintenance of websites, as well as the acquisition of business management programmes (ERP) will be subsidised. Eligible expenses include design services, domain and hosting management, and computer programmes that optimise business management, such as accounting, customer management, sales or inventory. Expenses associated with the modification of an existing commercial activity will also be considered eligible, as well as those related to the implementation of a new activity. The justification of the expenses must be submitted by 16th December at the latest, with a detailed report.
