Calvià Town Hall, through the Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries (IMEB), and the Ministry of Education and Universities of the Balearic Islands have signed a historic collaboration agreement that will mark a before and after in the improvement of educational infrastructure in the municipality. This agreement, which is carried out with the commitment of all the administrations involved, aims to carry out a series of renovation, improvement, and expansion works in Calvià's educational centres.

The agreement, which reflects close and effective collaboration between the three entities, establishes an unprecedented global investment of €5.94 million, aimed at ensuring that the municipality's educational infrastructure meets the current and future needs of the educational community. The interventions range from kitchen and bathroom renovations in various schools to the construction of new spaces and the improvement of safety and accessibility facilities. The work will be carried out in 11 infant and primary education schools.

The regional minister for Education and Universities, Antoni Vera Alemany, stressed that "collaboration between administrations is essential to improve the well-being and development of the educational community, and this agreement represents a fundamental step in ensuring that our centres have the appropriate infrastructure for quality teaching".

For his part, the mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual Guasp, highlighted the importance of this agreement for the future of education in the municipality, stressing that "the union of efforts and wills of the administrations is key to offering our students, teachers, service staff and families a quality educational environment, adapted to their needs and in line with advances in sustainability and accessibility".

Isabel Bonet, president of IMEB, expressed her satisfaction with the signing of the agreement, highlighting that "this joint effort will allow the implementation of large-scale projects that will not only benefit current generations of students, but will also guarantee a more modern, accessible and efficient educational future".

The collaboration between these administrations will allow to address a wide variety of actions, including improvements in safety, sustainability, and adapting schools to the needs of the 21st century. Some of the tenders are already underway and will run until 2027, with the aim of providing quality education in optimal infrastructure.
