Calvià celebrates Christmas with lots of activities.

This year Christmas comes early to Calvià. The Town Hall has organised a calendar full of events and proposals to enjoy the festivities and share fun and different moments with the whole family.

The Christmas activities begin with the traditional Mercat de Nadal in Santa Ponça, marking the start of almost four weeks of festivities. It will take place in the Santa Ponça Sports Centre between Friday 6th and Sunday 8th December.

Events

In the following weeks, Calvià will be filled with activities spread throughout all the areas to enjoy with family or friends. Some of the most notable events are, in the Auditori de Peguera, a Christmas Gala on Sunday 15th December, a circus show of juggling with musical rhythms on Saturday 21st and the ‘Dance Experience’ show by the Compañía Ibérica de Danza on Sunday 29th. The Municipal Music Band will offer a Christmas Concert in Sa Societat on Sunday 22nd December.

Parc de Nadal

Amongst the most notable events is the Parc de Nadal, a fun space for children with a charitable component, which will take place between 27th and 30th December at the Galatzó Sports Centre. Children will be able to enjoy games, attractions, craft workshops, musical shows and various children's activities. Daily entry costs 2 euros per person, or one can opt for a family ticket for 6 euros. The opening hours on Friday, 27th December will be from 4 to 8 pm, while on the 28th, 29th and 30th it will be open in the morning and afternoon: from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 to 8 pm.

This year, the profits obtained from the Parc de Nadal will go to the Duchenne Association in the Balearic Islands. The non-profit organisation has been set up by the parents of Lleó Páez, a three-year-old boy living in Son Ferrer who suffers from this disease considered rare. The entity is focused on the need to continue researching this pathology in order to improve the quality of life of those affected.

New Year's Eve

Young people from Calvia will be able to celebrate their own "last night" New Year's Eve with a pre-New Year's Eve party at the Es Generador site on Friday 20th December from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Hidrobal Sant Silvestre Calvianera, one of the most popular and fun New Year's Eve races on the island, will be held on the last day of the year at 5 p.m. at the Magaluf Athletics Track. There will be chocolate with ensaimadas and participants are reminded of the possibility of coming in costume.

The New Year's Eve Party to bid farewell to 2024 will be celebrated in style at the Galatzó Pavilion from 00:30 a.m., and will last until dawn. Attendees will be able to enjoy commercial music from the 80s and 90s, as well as other current styles for all tastes and ages. There will be a 3D photocall to immortalise the best moments of the evening. As last year, shuttle buses will be available to facilitate access to the party.

Three Kings Parade

The final event to the Christmas celebrations will be the arrival of the Three Wise Men on 5th January in Palmanova. The charm, excitement and magic of their majesties the Kings Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will fill the streets of Calvià. As every year, the Kings will arrive by boat at the port of Palmanova around 6:00 p.m. and, from there, they will travel along the Passeig de la Mar in a colourful, showy and fun parade of floats and troupes. Their Majesties will greet all those attending the Parade, and will delight the little ones. There will be real letterboxes throughout the municipality and during all the Christmas holidays so that the children of Calvià can send their letters to the Three Wise Men.
