  • The transfer to Ibsalut was approved on Thursday's Plenary Session
  • This in an addition to the transfer of a premises in Es Capdellà, which is in process

Calvià Town Hall has unanimously approved in its Plenary Session the transfer of two municipal plots located in Son Ferrer and Peguera to the Balearic Islands Health Service (Ibsalut) for the construction of new Basic Health Units (UBS) that will respond to the growing healthcare needs of the municipality's population. These actions represent a further step in the Town Hall's commitment to strengthening the healthcare infrastructure and bringing services closer to the population areas that need them most. These join the transfer of a premises in Es Capdellà, located on Platges Street, which is in process.

In Son Ferrer, the subjective demanial mutation (change of ownership of a public asset, maintaining its public use or service) has been approved for a 2.583-square-metre plot between Colom and Pit Roig Streets. This will allow for the construction of a new UBS adapted to current standards, with improved accessibility and greater capacity to serve the more than 4.500 residents in the area. The plot, classified as a public facility, has been deemed suitable by the Ibsalut technical services.

In Peguera, the Town Hall is transferring a 3.849,78-square-metre plot, located between Monte and Romana Streets, also classified as a public facility, where a new unit will be built to replace the current centre.

Both initiatives have received favourable technical, legal, and intervention reports and have been processed in accordance with current legislation, thus ensuring the legality and transparency of the process. The Social Services and Urban Planning departments have emphasised that these new healthcare facilities will represent a substantial improvement in the quality of care, allowing citizens to be treated in larger, more accessible, and modern spaces.
