The town of Peguera will host the fifth edition of WIPEOUT from September 30 to October 3—a festival that unites film, music, surfing, sports, art, and sustainability, all centered around the sea. This new edition brings a comprehensive audiovisual program focused on surfing and ocean culture to the Calvià area.

Over four days, the festival will combine international cinema, live music, sports, art, and gastronomy with a strong environmental commitment—supported by the participation of 90% of the islands' marine NGOs—solidifying its status as a key meeting point for the surfing community and ocean advocates.

The program includes a skatepark, workshops, a surf market, food trucks, DJs, exhibitions, live art, and activities for all ages; a highlight is the "Paddle Out," a collective advocacy event involving Balearic marine NGOs and linked to the Pacte Blau Balear (Balearic Blue Pact).

Film will play a starring role in this edition, with an international selection of documentaries and short films that broaden perspectives on surfing and the ocean. Notable among them is Women & the Wind, an award-winning documentary following three women on a journey across the North Atlantic; the film's co-director, Laerke Heilman, will attend as a special guest.

The film lineup is rounded out by titles such as Makai—which explores identity, diversity, and racism in the surfing world—and GUTS, by Italian documentarian Patrizia Bruno. ...Through Clouds and Water, From Dust to Dream—about new ways of building surfboards with a lower environmental impact—and Water, Get Enemy?, directed by Daniel Obasi, which portrays a new generation of surfers in Takwa Bay, Lagos.

Music will be another major pillar of the festival, with one of the most anticipated moments taking place on Saturday, October 3rd: a performance by L.A., one of the most renowned acts on the current Majorcan music scene. The band will share the stage at Plaza Torà with Los Pucheros Atómicos for an event combining open-air cinema and live music by the sea.

WIPEOUT began as a gathering centered on surfing and the ocean, but its scope has expanded to become a space where culture, sport, music, and environmental awareness converge.
