- This initiative reflects the Town Hall's commitment to further expanding the municipal information available to residents and tourists
Calvià Town Hall has launched four new websites that will be available for public access in the coming weeks. This move aligns with the municipal government team's aim to continue improving and expanding the municipal information provided to both residents and tourists.
Calvià is Cinema
The new website, www.calviaescine.com, covers a wide-ranging project into which the Town Hall—through its Tourism and Communication departments—has poured considerable effort over recent months. The goal of these initiatives is to establish Calvià as an increasingly important hub for the audiovisual arts.
In 2026—declared the "Year of Cinema in Calvià"—the municipality hosted the inaugural AI & Cinema Conference, the AI Movie Awards (AIMA) festival, and the international CONECTA Magaluf forum. These three film production events brought together renowned industry professionals from both Spain and abroad. All three events are featured on the new platform.
Seeking to blend audiovisual culture with tourism and local heritage—given that Calvià has long served as a natural backdrop for diverse international productions—the council has launched the "Calvià, Film Set" route. This itinerary allows visitors to discover the municipality's beaches and landscapes that have served as locations for major national and international productions.
Visitors can now follow in the footsteps of film crews, discovering the actual locations behind some of the most iconic titles filmed in the area. The new website provides information on the various municipal locations included in the route, alongside detailed information about each of the productions.
It is worth noting that the website also features information from the Calvià Film Office—a department under the Town Hall’s Tourism division that is affiliated with the Spain Film Commission, Illes Balears Film Commission, and Mallorca Film Commission networks. It offers interested parties—such as production companies, media outlets, and advertising agencies—a wide range of services designed to facilitate the development of audiovisual productions within the municipality.
In this regard, the website provides detailed information on urban streets, beaches and coves, sports facilities, cultural routes, protected areas, and much more, as any corner of the municipality has the potential to serve as a "film set."
The new site—which, like the others, will be constantly updated—details these initiatives alongside others scheduled for the coming months and the year ahead.
Magaluf for All
The town of Magaluf is undergoing a profound transformation toward a renewed, high-quality tourism model. The new website, www.magalufforall.com, showcases the projects, initiatives, and activities recently developed in the area, several of which have been driven by funding from the Sustainable Tourism Tax (ITS).
Thanks to the joint efforts of the public and private sectors, the area is establishing itself as a destination committed to sustainability and growth beyond the summer months. This paradigm shift—recognized by the international press—positions Magaluf as a true example of urban, social, and tourism regeneration. This milestone is reflected in the new digital platform, which is available in Spanish, Catalan, and English.
The new site provides information on the various social, cultural, gastronomic, and tourism initiatives taking place in the area. Highlights include cultural events such as the Magaluf Expanded Literature Festival (FLEM), the AI Movie Awards (AIMA) festival, the Mallorca Live Festival; the restoration of historical heritage; and gastronomic events like GastroFira, as well as the CONECTA Magaluf international forum and the ABTA convention. Also highlighted is the historic concert by the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra during the inauguration of the renovated seafront promenade, an event that drew over 9.500 people to the beach. Additionally, the site features an interactive calendar with the full schedule of free activities for all audiences taking place in the town from Thursday to Sunday.
The website includes extensive audiovisual content, with videos showcasing culinary offerings, the local lifestyle, facilities geared towards incentive tourism, and a robust sports portfolio—cemented by major events such as the Half Marathon Magaluf and the Veolia Sant Silvestre Calvianera. Finally, the website features a news section that gathers significant coverage from national and international media, highlighting the results of this new phase for Magaluf.
Calvianers
Another website developed by the Town Hall is www.calvianers.com , a digital space that brings together content from the audiovisual project launched by the Town Hall. The project aims to preserve the municipality's collective memory by sharing the stories of the people who helped shape the Calvià of today.
The new platform compiles content from the series' first two editions—dedicated to Magaluf (2025) and Santa Ponça (2026)—and includes full-length documentaries, biographies of the honorees, and recordings of the complete gala events held in both communities.
Through personal testimonies, historical images, and shared memories, www.calvianers.com reconstructs the evolution of each community from a human perspective. It focuses on the individuals whose effort, entrepreneurial spirit, hard work, and commitment made Calvià's transformation into its present-day form possible.
Calvianers portrays daily life, neighbourly relationships, the sense of belonging, and the values that have fostered cohesion within each community across generations. Shopkeepers, healthcare professionals, athletes, business owners, educators, workers, and residents share firsthand accounts of those years and describe how they helped forge the identities of places like Magaluf and Santa Ponça.
Spearheaded by the Calvià Town Hall and funded by the Sustainable Tourism Tax, the project reflects the local government's intention to progressively expand the initiative until it covers every community in Calvià.
La Mostra Calvià
La Mostra Calvià is a gastronomic event held at restaurants across the municipality twice a year—before and after the summer season. Participating restaurants showcase their finest specialties during the off-peak season to raise their profile among both visitors and local residents.
Until recently, specific information about the event was hosted on the Calvià 365 Foundation website. Now, La Mostra Calvià has its own dedicated site, www.lamostracalvia.com, featuring comprehensive information about the culinary event.
Through the end of September, the website serves as a registration platform for restaurants wishing to join the initiative. From October onwards—aligned with the event's goal of highlighting high-quality local cuisine and boosting the visibility of participating restaurants—the site will showcase the culinary offerings of all participating establishments. Designed for simple, intuitive navigation, the platform allows users to view participating restaurants and their menus in Spanish, Catalan, and English.
In the most recent autumn edition, La Mostra Calvià extended the event into November for the first time. This change was implemented to further reduce reliance on the peak summer season and prolong the tourism period, reflecting the municipality's extended tourism activity.
Other initiatives
Meanwhile, significant improvements are being made to the tourism website www.visitcalvia.org. In addition to a comprehensive content update, new features and information are being added. The site now displays real-time occupancy data for the municipality's main beaches, derived from capacity monitoring technology that is part of the Calvià DTI (Smart Tourist Destination) project.
It also provides detailed information on four new hiking routes—certified and signposted according to FEDME (Spanish Federation of Mountain and Climbing Sports) standards—covering a total of 21,6 kilometers of standardized trails. To facilitate access to these routes, practical details such as distance, difficulty, elevation gain, and maps for each itinerary are provided, along with links to download (GPS) tracks.
