The municipality of Calvià is preparing for one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year, the Foguerons de Sant Antoni and Sant Sebastià (Bonfires), which will fill different locations with fire, music and tradition starting this weekend

Calvià lights up tradition with a dozen bonfires for Sant Antoni and Sant Sebastià.


After the success of the bonfires organised by the Apolo XI Neighbourhood Association (Costa d'en Blanes) last weekend, the festivities continue with more gatherings in honour of Mallorca's traditions.
So that no one misses the opportunity to participate, the Calvià Town Hall has published on its website a detailed list with the times and locations of the different bonfires that will take place throughout the municipality. This information is available in the Agenda section, so that residents can organise themselves and enjoy this very special tradition to the fullest.

  • -Portals Nous: 17th January at 6 p.m.
  • -Palmanova: 17th January at 6 p.m.
  • -Magaluf: 18th January at 12 p.m. and 25th January at 6 p.m.
  • -Son Ferrer: 18th January at 5 p.m.
  • -El Toro: 18th January at 7 p.m.
  • -Galatzó: 18th January at 6 p.m.
  • -Son Caliu: 18th January at 6:30 p.m.
  • -Peguera: 18th January at 7 p.m.
  • -Calvià Village: 18th January at 7 p.m.
  • -Es Capdellà: 19th January at 6 p.m.
  • -Cas Català-Illetes: 25th January at 6:30 p.m.
  • -Blessing of the animals in Calvià Village: 19th January at 10:30 a.m.
  • -Costa de la Calma: 31st January at 7 p.m.

  • -Sta. Ponça: 1st February at 12:30 p.m.

Finally, we cannot forget the beneïdes (blessing of the animals), one of the most endearing traditions in Mallorca, where animals, life companions of so many families, receive a blessing in honour of Sant Antoni, their patron saint. This year, the celebration will take place on 19th January in Calvià Village from 10:30 a.m.
