Calvià prepares the third edition of the Excellent Awards to continue highlighting the municipality's commercial fabric.

  • The objective of the call is to recognise good practices and excellence in Calvià's businesses and shops

Calvià Town Hall will announce the Excellent Awards for 2025 this summer. This third edition aims to continue highlighting the municipality's commercial fabric.

The fundamental objective of the call is to publicly recognise the good practices and excellence of Calvià's businesses and shops, which, due to their track record, innovation, proximity, originality, accessibility, or sustainability, are deemed worthy by the Awards jury.

All individuals and legal entities (merchants, companies, and businesses) operating in the municipality of Calvià and who meet certain requirements established in the terms and conditions of the call are eligible to participate. Registration, as in previous years, is free. You must complete a form and the annexes, which can be found on the Ajuntament's website in the Commerce section. Registration can be for one category, several, or all. The categories are: innovative company, family business, local businesses, 365 company (open all year round), and tourism business.

The prizes will consist of 300€ for each category and a small sculpture of the "Cor de Calvià," a creation by local artist Carlos Terroba that has become a symbol of the municipality and whose original work is located on Palmanova seafront.

Three finalists will be selected from all participating businesses for each category. These 15 finalists will receive a complete and exclusive advertorial about their establishments, completely free of charge. Once recorded and edited, they will be given the opportunity to freely distribute it on any media channel, social media, etc. and will also be published on www.calvia.com.

From amongst the finalist businesses, the jury will review the proposed nominations and select a winner per category whose name will be announced at an Awards Gala to be held in November. At this event, reports from each of the 15 finalist businesses will be screened, and the winning business in each category will be announced.

In previous editions, the winning companies were Gráficas Santa Ponsa, Óptica Specsavers, Feels Like Home, BCM, The Glamping, Muebles Palmanova, Droguería y Ferretería Calvià, Hotel Bendinat and Uco Bakery. In addition to the regular awards, in 2023 there was special recognition to Luis Carrasco (Palmira Hotels) for his long career linked to tourism and sport in the municipality, and in 2024 to Pirates Adventure for its four-decade career in the family tourism sector in Magaluf.
