- Calvià consolidates its role as one of the pioneering municipalities in Mallorca in implementing the Local Festival Management Model promoted by the PADIB
Calvià Town Hall hosted a working session within the framework of the Municipal Plan for the Prevention of Addictions (PEMPA-CALVIÀ) to present and coordinate the proposed actions planned for the 2026 local festivals in the different areas of the municipality.
The meeting, held in the Plenary Hall of the Town Hall building, took place within the framework of the Local Festival Management Model promoted by the Balearic Islands Regional Plan for the Prevention of Addictions (PADIB), and included the participation of municipal representatives, entities, and groups involved in the organisation and development of local festivals.
During the meeting, the various lines of action planned both before and during the celebrations were discussed, with the aim of promoting safer, more responsible, and healthier festivities for all citizens, especially young people.
Amongst the topics covered were awareness and prevention initiatives, coordination between services and organisations, and various proposals aimed at reducing risks associated with alcohol and other substance use in festive settings.
Calvià was one of the pioneering municipalities in Mallorca to adopt this prevention model and continues to consolidate a cross-cutting approach based on institutional coordination, awareness-raising, and the promotion of safer and healthier leisure activities.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to share experiences, gather input from the various participants, and strengthen collaborative work amongst administrations, associations, and stakeholders involved in the management of local festivals.
Calvià Town Hall emphasises the importance of continuing to promote responsible leisure activities and safe festive spaces, fostering shared responsibility and community participation in the organisation of the municipality's celebrations.
