- On 15th and 16th November, visitors can enjoy a craft and agricultural market, a vintage motorcycle exhibition, children's workshops, shepherd dog exhibitions, and various gastronomic and cultural activities
Es Capdellà is preparing to celebrate its traditional Autumn Crafts Fair this coming weekend, a fair that has become an essential event for showcasing the traditional crafts of Calvià countryside. The Fair's programme, which runs from 13th to 16th November, includes a diverse range of activities for the whole family. Visitors can enjoy a craft and agricultural market with tastings of local products and learn about the ancestral tasks and work of the countryside, typical of this time of year.
The days leading up to the Fair will be dedicated to the sector and the promotion of local products. On Thursday, 13th November, a "Meeting with the Rural World" will be held, a space for dialogue with the farmers of the municipality to address the needs of the sector. This will include a well-deserved tribute to Maria Puig Pons, the madona of Galatzó, and a remembrance of Pep Isern Lladó.
Later, on Friday 14th November, a tasting of local products with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) will be offered, tastings of Ametlla de Mallorca, Sobrassada de Mallorca, Oli de Mallorca, and Vi de la Terra Mallorca, with prior registration.
On Saturday, 15th November, Es Capdellà will host an animal exhibition and a craft and agri-food market from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will also be an exhibition of vintage motorcycles. At 11:00 a.m., a sheepdog exhibition and competition will take place at Son Alfonso estate, organised by the Associació de Pastoreig de Calvià Association. Both in the morning and afternoon, the Fira will feature children's activities such as workshops and storytelling. The day will conclude with a large barbecue and a traditional Mallorcan dance.
On Sunday, 16th November, the market and animal exhibition will continue. Various activities for the whole family will also take place, and, as a novelty, an archaeological play and experimentation area will be set up in collaboration with the Puig de la Morisca Archaeological Park. The day will also include a traditional lunch of "llom amb col" (pork loin with cabbage) and a performance by the Circo Golosina (Golosina Circus), not forgetting the traditional parade with the Geganters (giants) and Xeremiers (traditional Mallorcan musicians) of Calvià, which will take place at eleven in the morning. In addition, throughout the weekend, several local bars and restaurants will offer a selection of traditional Mallorcan cuisine with typical dishes.
The mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, encourages everyone to "come to Es Capdellà and participate in the packed programme of events over these days." The organisers remind everyone that there will be a bar service in Sa Vinya Square during the main days of the Fira, and designated parking areas to facilitate attendance.
