- Timed and untimed races will be held to benefit children with cancer and their families
- The event will take place on November 15th at the Magaluf Joan Munar Martínez Athletics Track
On November 15th, the Magaluf - Joan Munar Martínez Athletics Track will be the meeting point for a very special day. The Fundación Marco Asensio invites runners, families, volunteers, and everyone who wants to participate in the event. This is a 100% charity race, in which each participant can choose how to contribute, regardless of their age or athletic ability. The goal is to improve the life quality of children with cancer and their families.
In addition to the funds allocated to Marco Asensio Foundation's programmes, this race will have a special collaboration with L’Estrella de na Marta Association. For every registration, 1€ will be donated to the association, with the aim of continuing to support childhood cancer research.
The races
The day will feature different options so that everyone can find their own way to participate and contribute. There will be 10K and 5K races, two options for those who want to run and enjoy the competition. Both the 10K and 5K will be timed, circular races, with refreshments and a commemorative T-shirt.
A 5K Walk will also be held under the motto "walking is also participating." This is an untimed, circular walk, accessible for those who prefer to walk. It is pet-friendly and includes refreshments at the finish line and a commemorative T-shirt.
The 1K Family Race: running together is designed for the youngest participants, intended for family enjoyment. Adults and children will run the course together without a stopwatch.
Participating children will receive a finisher's medal, a commemorative T-shirt, and a blank race number to personalize. Children's registration does not include a race number or T-shirt for accompanying adults.
The Foundation
This race is not Marco Asensio Foundation's first foray into sports. Quite the opposite. Sport is part of his own history and his way of understanding support for his charitable cause. The Foundation was created by the Mallorcan athlete, Marco Asensio, a footballer who currently plays for Fenerbahçe S.K. in the Turkish Super League. Since its inception, the Foundation has worked to improve the life quality of children with cancer and their families, finding in sport one of its most powerful tools for doing so. Physical exercise, nutrition, and family support are all part of this vision. These are different ways to help children and their families feel stronger and enjoy moments of normalcy and happiness.
Activities for the whole family
In addition to the races, the day will feature Zumba, guided sports activities, food trucks, music, and special guests, creating an atmosphere designed for everyone to enjoy both on and off the track.
